Pink Jams!
Founded in 2009, Pink Jams! works to raise breast cancer awareness to men and women under 40 by combining awareness with the interests of their target audience – live music, fashion, art, dining, etc. Our single goal is to reach thousands of younger Washington, DC area residents to inform them about breast cancer, and to eradicate the misconception that breast cancer screenings should begin at age 40. Our awareness message includes encouraging men and women to understand their family's medical history, and to be proactive about their own breast health.

City of Hope
For nearly 100 years, City of Hope's pioneering research has brought the world closer to cures for many life-threatening diseases, including breast cancer. City of Hope is recognized worldwide for its compassionate patient care, innovative science and translational research, which rapidly turns laboratory breakthroughs into promising new therapies. Pink Jams! is honored to provide City of Hope with a portion of the proceeds from the Under 40 Music Marathon.

Hard Rock Cafe Washington, DC and local breast cancer awareness organization Pink Jams! added a pop of PINK in honor of the Cafe’s 13th annual PINKTOBER breast cancer awareness campaign.

From 7PM on September 28th through noon on September 30th, a wide variety of local, regional, and national musicians played back to back continuously for 39 hours and 59 minutes.

Over 150 local artists (50+ bands total), along with an "American Idol" winner and finalist, combined their talents to draw attention to the importance of breast cancer awareness for women and for men – particularly those under the age of 40. "American Idol" Season 11 winner, Phillip Phillips, whose recent song "Home" went platinum, and Season 10 finalist, Haley Reinhart, whose debut album Listen Up! is in stores now, kicked off the weekend of music.
